Finding it hard to meet your match? Here’s a 5-step guide to finding your soul color.
What is your skin's undertone? Undertone is not the same as skin color or tone; your skin tone can change, but your undertone does not. Undertones can be cool, warm, or neutral.
Check the veins in your wrist or ankle for clues about your undertone. Veins that have a Blue to Purple color indicate a COOL undertone. Veins with a Blue to Green color indicate a NEUTRAL undertone. Veins with a Green to Olive color indicates a WARM undertone.
Foundations have a cool, warm or neutral tone as well. To ensure that your foundation blends seamlessly with your coloring, it needs to work with your specific undertone. Foundations mainly come in three ranges of shades: fair, medium, and dark.
Once you find the right selection for your skin tone, apply a small amount to your cheek and neck. If the foundation blends flawlessly into your skin in both of these areas, then you've found the right one. The key here is to blend it out. You don't want to apply too much foundation or show lines of application around your chin and neck areas.
Foundation is the base of your makeup and should always be matched well. Now that you know how to choose the perfect foundation, you'll notice the difference immediately with a radiant, healthy glow every time.
